The Kat Matěj´s house provides the romantic accommodation in the centre of Český Krumlov (3 minutes from the castle and 5 minutes from the square) to all who like the old-time atmosphere. The house comes from the half of the 16th century. According to extant archival memorials the town executor Matěj, called Goodie, had his seat here, who became famous for trying to moderate the suffering of convicted unfortunates, he was also known as the healer of sick people. Later the head forest guard of the Rožmberk domain used to live in this house. The object has been sensitively reconstructed, and we managed to keep the original historical impression of the medieval building.
The rooms are equipped with a stylish furniture which was made according to old sculps to touch best the period atmosphere. The accommodation is ensured in three rooms – double, triple and one apartment for five persons. The smaller capacity of the object guarantees accommodation in quiet environment which is ideal for your rest, and provides welcome privacy to all guests. From every room you can enjoy the beautiful view of the castle and the castle garden. The historical town Český Krumlov offers possibilities of cultural enjoyment during all year, and it is the ideal place for spending both longer holiday and romantic weekend. In surroundings you can visit the castle Rožmberk, the convent in Vyšší Brod, or you can go to the Lipno lake. In high season the rotating amphitheatre Český Krumlov is worth seeing.
